Working with a group of ten artists from Morocco and the UK, this workshop invited the participants to create cyanotype prints using various materials collected on the Moroccan seashores, including seashells, algaes, sand, plastic bags, ropes, and miscellaneous litter.
Together, we assembled a collective bestiary, documenting the material remains of organic and non-organic bodies which are accumulating on the seashore. We collectively imagined the ‘creatures’ that emerge from this hybrid landscape through cyanotype prints on paper and a collective animation on 16mm film.
This workshop took place in Marrakech as part of the ‘Under the Same Sun‘ residency organised by A.MAL Collective.
